Gold American Eagle Bullion Coin
History and Significance: This bullion coin has been minted by the U.S. Mint annually since 1986. This followed the Gold Bullion Act of 1985, stating that any gold used to strike these bullion coins must come the United States of America. The Gold American Eagles follow the tradition of the circulated coins back in the late 19th and early 20th century, but a bit modernized.

- Its Design: The American Eagle itself, is actually the reverse/rear side of the 1oz gold American Eagle bullion coin. As of 2021, the reverse features a male bald eagle with an olive branch clenched in his talon, hovering over the female in the nest, along with their hatchlings. The Lady Liberty is the obverse/front side of the coin was designed by the incredible Renaissance artist Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The Lady Liberty design was first featured on the 1907 Double Eagle Coin.
- Any 10z Gold American Eagle Bullion coins produced since 2021 through the present, are also known as a “Double Eagle”, due to the 2 eagles present on the reverse side of the coin.
