The Gold Austrian Philharmonic Coin
This coin is Europe’s most popular coin series, starting in 1989 and continues to this day. There are gold, silver and platinum versions for each year, as well as minted and proofed coins.
Throughout the time this coin has begun its production, the design remains the same. On the obverse side of the coin, the pipe organ from the Golden Hall in the Musikverein, which is the concert hall in which the Austrian Philharmonic orchestra plays. The musical instruments that are represented on the reverse side include a cello, a harp, a bassoon and the Vienna horn.
These coins are produced by the Austrian Mint, and the artistic inspiration derived from the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and is represented on both sides.
The silver, platinum or Gold Austrian Philharmonic coins, are made in all different sizes, do circulate as legal tender, that have a face value in increments the Euros. But they can only be used as legal tender in Austria.
This coin is one of the most popular of all on an international basis as an investment, and/or an addition to any coin collection.
